The 5 Points of SEO

The basics of search engine optimization in applied web marketing are simple. It’s all to do with the keyword content of your text copy, and can be summarized in Five points.

  1. Name your page URLs based on reasons similar to the above for your web promotion, except now you can be more specific. Search engines like to know what your page is about.
  2. The text in the title tag is crucial in letting search engines know what each page is about. Put your important keywords in your title tags, using both the singular and plural versions (people will search for both) and make these tags different and specific for each page.
  3. Keyword density Each search engine has its own preference as to how many times a keyword phrase appears on the page in order to signify the relevance of that keyword phrase. Around 5 to 8 per cent is a rough guide as to the optimal level. Don’t overdo it, otherwise it will be seen as spam or keyword-stuffing. Also use your keywords in the headings tags H1 and H2.
  4. Don’t forget good linking in your website marketing. Search engines will judge the importance of your web pages to some extent on the number and quality of incoming links from other sites. Ask other webmasters with sites on similar themes to yours for a link, in exchange for a link back.
  5. Make sure that important keywords are included in the anchor text within inbound links from other sites. This is crucial to search engines when they try to figure out the relevance and importance of your pages.

On the other side, Organic Website Optimization is all about using ethical, search engine friendly techniques that beckon search engines. For ex, search engines give higher rankings to those websites that are content rich and user friendly. Taking care of this aspect, Organic Website Optimization gives maximum thrust on Content Optimization, Web Page Optimization and Link Building Techniques to make websites user friendly.

Besides, Organic Website Optimization offers several other innovative techniques like News releases, Articles Submission, Directories Submission, Forums, Blogs etc to promote your website on Internet. These techniques help in increasing traffic on your website and also create an air of trust among search engines since search engines assume a website to be popular if it contains references on other websites.

3 Ways to Quickly Boost Traffic to Your Web Site

1- Offer a free online directory or page of links to helpful resources like I do with my Newsman’s Favorite Links Blog. The directory should be full of interesting ebooks, e-zines, web sites, etc. If people find your directory to be a valuable resource they will visit it over and over.

2- Offer free online services or utilities from your web site. They could be on search engine submitting, copy writing, article proofreading, etc. The service or utility should be helpful to your target audience.

3- Give free consulting to people who visit your web site. You could offer your knowledge via e-mail or by telephone. People will consider this a huge value because consulting fees can be very expensive. In fact, you can give them links or ebooks covering their area of interest but sign them up for email to get access to the information.
